Carp Rod Butt Rests
Butt rests are rear rod supports, also referred to by carp anglers as rod rest heads. They are mounted on buzz bars or carp banksticks, where they support the rod butt. The range includes open rests, clamp and spring-loaded models, as well as butt cups.
Open Rests, Clamp Rests and Butt Cups
With open rests, the rod butt is placed from above into a profiled cradle. It is held in place by the shape of the arms, the flexibility of the material and the surface in contact with the rod. Variants with different cradle widths are available.
Clamp and spring-loaded rests feature movable elements that grip the rod butt once it is placed in the rest. Butt cups have a different design: the end of the rod butt is inserted into a socket that surrounds it and supports it from the end.
Rod Butt Retainers and Adjustable Arm Spacing
This category also includes complete rests with protection against the rod butt coming out unintentionally. Depending on the model, this function is provided by closing arms, a locking mechanism, a strap or a rubber O-ring.
Selected designs allow the arm spacing to be adjusted mechanically. This makes it possible to change the cradle width within the range provided for a given model. Alongside them, non-adjustable rests are available in separate size variants.
Separate retainers used with an individual rest can also be found in the snag ears and rod protection section.
Replacement Inserts and Parts for Butt Rests
The range is complemented by inserts and spare parts for selected butt rest series. They are sold separately from complete mounts and are intended for specific models or sizes. They allow the element that comes into contact with the rod butt to be replaced without replacing the entire rest.
