Stiffer Material with Different Action

Fluorocarbon has a higher density and is usually stiffer than classic nylon line. It can be used for leaders or short sections when reducing tangles and lower visibility underwater is needed. This does not automatically mean an advantage in every situation — stiffness can worsen the natural action of very light bait.

Diameter, Knot, and Durability

Choose the diameter according to the hook and load, and tie the knot recommended for stiffer material. After tightening, check the surface, as damage or sharp bends weaken the section. You can compare other materials in the feeder lines and braids category. For the main line requiring minimal stretch, feeder braids are used, which behave differently during casting and playing the fish.
