Snag Ears and Rod Supports

Snag Ears and Rod Retainers
Snag ears, also known as rod retainers, limit the possibility of the rod slipping sideways out of the bite alarm. This category also includes butt locks, complete rod rests with retainers, and spare parts for these solutions. The range includes retainers for both the front and rear sections of the rod.
Fixed and Adjustable Height Snag Ears
Snag ears feature vertical arms positioned on either side of the rod next to the bite alarm. They limit sideways rod movement, for example during a take from a direction other than the rod's alignment axis.
Available options include snag ears with a fixed height and designs allowing the arms to be adjusted and locked in the selected position. Individual models also differ in arm length, finish, and mounting method at the bite alarm.
Snag Ears with Hanger or Swinger Mounting
Some snag ears are equipped with an additional mount for a mechanical bite indicator. Depending on the design, this may be a hockey stick-type bracket, a swinger plate, or a dedicated mounting socket.
Such solutions combine snag ears with a mounting point for a hanger or swinger. Compatibility with a specific indicator depends on the system used, so not every mount supports all bite indicator models.
Butt Locks and Rod Rests with Retainers
Standalone locks work with a separate butt rest. Depending on the model, they use a strap, elastic cord, or another element that limits the possibility of the rod being accidentally pulled out.
The range also includes complete rod rests with an integrated lock. Other rear rod rest designs are available in the carp rod butt rests category.
The range is complemented by replacement snag ear arms, rubbers, cords, and other parts designed for specific retainer models.
