The KD Rig, a carp rig invented by Kenny Dorsett, is one of the simplest carp rigs to assemble.
The high effectiveness of the KD Rig comes from its simple construction and the unique mechanics of its action, which have outsmarted thousands of carps around the world. It can be confidently stated that the KD Rig is a universal solution, as it works perfectly with both sinking boilies and pop-ups, and many carp anglers can hardly imagine fishing with wafters without using this rig.

Creating a KD Rig is very simple and quick, as it doesn't require the use of any shrink tubing, rings, or positioners. All you need is a leader braid and a carp hook.
The best hooks for this rig are models with a slightly curved shank or hooks with a wide gape and short shank. Personally, I find that hooks with a straight gape, like the Nash Twister, are also excellent for the KD Rig.
How to tie the KD Rig? It's child's play! I'll show you in a few steps how I do it.
To make this rig you will need:
Carp hooks, for this instance I used a model with a wide gape.
1 I measure out the correct length of leader braid depending on the length of the rig I want to use:
2 On one end of the braid, I tie a small loop that will help me attach and secure the bait:
3 Thread the tag end without a loop through the eye of the hook from the outside:
4 I'm measuring the length of the hair rig. It depends on the size or type of bait I'll be using:
5 I wrap the braid around the shank of the hook approximately three to four times, just as with the standard "knotless knot." I lift the hair rig up to ensure it does not adhere to the hook shank during the subsequent wraps of the braid on the hook.
6 I then make about three to four wraps of the braid around the shank of the hook towards the bend.
7 I return with two turns of the braid towards the eye of the hook, thread the end of the braid through the eye from the outside to the inside, and then arrange the knot formed so that the hair rig perfectly extends from the "back" of the hook.
8 I set the length of the leader and then tie a loop at the end of the braid for connection to the rig.
9 Using pullers or scissors, I tension the ready rig to ensure that all knots are properly tightened. If necessary, I reposition the hair so that it extends perfectly from the "back" of the hook.
10 Using a needle, I thread the bait and then secure it with a stopper.
