Travel Carp Rods

Multi-Section Travel Carp Rods
Travel carp rods feature a blank made up of four or five short sections which, when joined together, create a full-length rod. The higher number of sections reduces the transport length to around one metre or less, depending on the specific design. Such a carp rod takes up less space in luggage, the car and tackle transported to the venue than classic carp rods.
Models referred to as travel rods retain traditional joints between the individual blank sections. They are not telescopic designs. Additional joints affect the distribution of the rod's weight and stiffness, so the number of sections does not determine its action or casting performance. The character of a particular rod is still defined by the blank construction, length, test curve and the components used.
From Compact 8 ft to Full-Size 13 ft
The range includes travel rods from 8 to 13 ft in length. It features both shorter carp rods designed for mobile fishing and full-size 12 ft and 13 ft models. Some designs also allow the working length to be changed by removing one of the sections.
Compared with three-piece carp rods travel models have even shorter sections and a shorter packed length. They differ from telescopic carp rods in the way they fold down – the sections are completely separated rather than sliding into one another. This allows multi-section carp rods to combine a short transport length with a construction characteristic of classic take-apart rods.
