Two-piece carp rods – blanks with one joint
Two-piece carp rods consist of two main sections: the butt section and the tip section. The limited number of joints helps manufacturers maintain a smooth blank action, efficient energy transfer during casting and adequate power reserves when playing fish. However, the final characteristics of each rod also depend on its length, action, test curve, guide layout and the carbon fibres used.
Two-piece carp rods make up the most extensive part of the carp rods range. It includes both entry-level models for those starting their carp fishing journey and advanced designs intended for use with heavier rigs and achieving long casting distances.
Two-piece carp rods in lengths from 6 to 13 ft
The range includes compact rods from 6 to 10 ft, classic 12 ft (3.60 m) models and longer 13 ft (3.90 m) carp rods. Individual series are available in various test curves and casting weights, meaning that the two-piece design is used in both lightweight rods for fishing at shorter ranges and powerful casting models.
The category includes rods from Fox, Shimano, Sportex, Nash, Korda, Prologic, Sonik and Carp Spirit. In addition to blank specifications, they differ in guide layout and diameter, reel seat and handle finish, including cork, EVA foam, shrink wrap, carbon or Winn Grip material.
Two-piece rods for casting, bait boat fishing and stalking
Two-piece blanks are available in versatile designs, models for bait boat fishing, short stalking rods and carp rods designed for fishing at long distances. The most specialised casting models are also grouped in the long-distance carp rods category.
A classic two-piece design means relatively long transport sections, especially in 12 ft and 13 ft models. Properly matched carp rod holdalls are used to protect them during transport.
