Carp Hangers

Carp hangers are mechanical bite indicators mounted beneath an electronic bite alarm. The hanger head is most often connected to the mounting point by a chain, cord or flexible cable. Once the line is attached, it rises or falls as the line tightens or slackens. This makes it effective at indicating both a fish running away and a drop-back bite. Hangers are also commonly referred to as bobbins.

Hangers for Electronic Bite Alarms

A hanger helps maintain proper line contact with an electronic bite alarm, making even slight line movements easier to notice. It can be used with a single bite alarm or a set from the bite alarms with receiver category. In illuminated models, the LED in the head can light up together with the bite alarm, provided both components have the appropriate connector.

Head, Line Clip and Additional Weight

Individual hangers differ in head size and weight, line retention method and the option to add additional weight. An adjustable line clip allows the grip to be matched to the diameter of monofilament or braid, while interchangeable weights help set the correct line tension. Hanger vs. Carp Swinger

The key feature of a hanger is the free-hanging connection between the head and the mounting point. In a swinger, the head moves on a rigid arm.
