Method Feeder Bait Cages and Moulds
Method feeder bait cages are used to deliver a small, concentrated portion of bait or pellet along with the bait. This category includes feeders of various sizes and weights, through designs, and models with a quick-change system. Separate subcategories make it easier to choose a solution for a specific type of mix and presentation method.
Types of Method Feeder Cages
Classic method feeder cages have a flat or open design that helps arrange the bait with the portion of the mix. Pellet feeder cages are primarily intended for delivering prepared pellets, while maggot feeder cages allow gradual release of live baits. Suitable method feeder moulds are used for even and repeatable filling of the feeder.
How to Choose Weight, Size, and Attachment System?
A lighter cage works well at shorter distances and in calm water, while a heavier weight helps keep the rig at the chosen distance and in wind or current. Consider not only the weight of the empty feeder but also the weight of the pellet or bait after filling. Choose the size according to the planned portion of the mix, fish activity, and frequency of recasts. The quick-change system is practical when you want to change the weight during fishing without dismantling the entire rig.
The performance of the cage is also determined by the preparation of the mix: too dry may fall out during the cast, while too tightly packed releases too slowly. Choose the right feeder baits and match them with method feeder baits, instead of judging the feeder solely by shape or weight.
