Carp slings
Carp slings are weighing bags most often equipped with stiffened arms, spreaders, handles, and elements that stabilize the fish during lifting. This category includes slings designed for weighing large carp and grass carp, and in selected models also for short, controlled storage of the fish in water. A carp sling differs from a classic soft bag primarily by a more rigid construction and better fit for weighing the fish.
Carp sling as a fish weighing bag
A carp sling is sometimes referred to as a carp bag or fish weighing bag, but its construction is more technical than in the case of soft bags without stiffening. Stiffened arms, reinforcing straps, transport handles, and the proper shape help evenly distribute the weight of the fish during lifting. This is one of the safest ways to weigh large carp and grass carp, especially when combined with carp scales and fish weighing stands.
Slings for weighing and storing fish
Not every carp sling is intended for storing fish. Models equipped with zippers, clips, floats, or other safeguards can serve the function of short-term storage of carp in water before weighing or photographing. Slings without closures and safeguards are mainly intended for weighing and transporting the fish, as an unsecured fish could easily escape from inside. When choosing a product, it is worth paying attention to whether it is a floating carp sling with the possibility of securing the fish or a simpler model for weighing only.
Slings among carp bags
Carp slings are one of the most popular designs available in the carp bags category. Alongside them are soft carp bags, which have no arms, spreaders, or frames and are mainly used for temporary storage of fish in water. In practice, a sling also complements other fish handling accessories on the bank, such as carp mats, scales, and weighing stands.
