Carp Hats

A carp fishing hat provides more coverage than a peaked cap
Carp fishing hats feature a brim that surrounds the entire head, reducing direct sunlight not only from the front but also from the sides. They are ideal for long sessions on heavily sun-exposed banks, moving around the venue and watching the water on sunny days. However, they do not eliminate glare from the water surface, so it is worth pairing them with polarised sunglasses.
This category includes fishing hats from Korda, Nash, Fox, Trakker, One More Cast, Avid Carp, Delphin and KUMU. The range includes green, olive, black and camouflage models, as well as reversible versions that allow you to change the look of the hat.
Bucket hats and boonie hats differ in the details
Bucket hats usually feature a soft, downward-facing brim and a flexible construction that can be easily folded for transport. Boonie models typically stand out with a wider brim and a more outdoors-oriented design. Depending on the product, they may feature ventilation holes, a chin strap, a fleece lining or additional moisture protection.
The range also includes a hat with a mosquito net that protects the face and neck from insects. However, you should not assume that every boonie model has this feature. Likewise, the term bucket hat does not indicate waterproofness or the level of rain protection – these depend on the material and specifications of the particular product.
A brim only helps when the hat stays on your head
Hats may be available in children’s sizes, S/M and L/XL, as well as in models described by the manufacturer as one size fits all. Before purchasing, it is worth measuring your head circumference and comparing it with the stated measurement. A hat that is too loose may shift in windy conditions, especially if it is not fitted with an adjustable chin strap.
For wet weather, choose only models described as waterproof or protected against moisture. Hats with a fleece lining or sherpa finish provide additional warmth, but in low temperatures, warm carp fishing hats may provide more effective ear coverage. If you need a lighter design and protection mainly from the front, carp fishing peaked caps will be a better choice.
