Bite alarms allow you to monitor your rods throughout the entire session, including at night and when the carp angler is in the bivvy or another part of the swim. An electronic bite alarm responds to line movement during a run or a drop-back and alerts you with sound and light. In systems with a receiver, the signal is also sent to a wireless receiver that you can carry with you.

Bite alarms with receiver

Depending on the model, the set may offer volume, tone and sensitivity adjustment, bite direction indication, receiver vibration mode and various LED colours. This is a convenient solution for night fishing and longer sessions, when rods are set up on a rod pod or banksticks some distance away from the bivvy.

Single bite alarms and receivers

Single bite alarms are ideal for fishing with one rod, replacing a damaged unit or expanding an existing set. Some models work independently, while others have a transmitter and can be paired with a dedicated receiver.

Receivers for bite alarms are also available separately. The receiver must match a specific bite alarm series, so compatibility with your existing system is the key factor when choosing one.

Carp hangers and swingers

Electronic bite alarms can work together with mechanical indicators mounted below the alarm. Carp hangers are usually connected to the attachment point by a chain, cord or flexible cable. Carp swingers use a rigid arm instead.

Both solutions indicate line movement and tension, making them effective at signalling both runs and drop-backs. Many models also allow you to change the weight or adjust the way the line is held.

For more advanced bite alarm systems, you can choose motion sensors and lights for bite alarms. Sensors help protect your swim and equipment, while lights can switch on after detecting movement or receiving a bite indication signal.
