Soft hooklink braid is made from special fibres that are combined together using a weave. Braid has always been a fundamental material in the creation of many different rigs used in carp fishing, thanks to its excellent tensile properties.

Characteristics of Soft Hooklink Braids 

Strength - One of the most important features of a braid. High strength (especially at the knot) in relation to the thickness of the braid allows the creation of strong rigs for catching powerful and combative carp in all conditions.

Softness - Soft braid settles well both on the bottom of the water body and in the mouth of the fish during a take. Soft braid also has its downsides - it is not suitable for long-distance casting as it can easily get tangled.

Abrasion Resistance - On the market, you can find many different soft hooklink braids that have fibres in their weave, such as Kevlar, used to increase abrasion resistance against sharp rocks or edges of shells that grow on underwater trees or stones.

Colouration - A good hooklink braid is characterized by appropriate camouflage, usually matched to the colour of the bottom. The most popular camouflage colours used in carp braids are vegetation, gravel, or similar to muddy bottoms.

Buoyancy - When looking for a good hooklink braid, pay attention to its buoyancy. Some models are highly buoyant, which is usually a disadvantage since a braid section sticking out from the bottom can effectively spook feeding fish. However, there are situations when this is an advantage, for example, when laying a rig on a bottom covered with vegetation. Many good braids contain heavy fibres or a special coating that ensures good adherence to the bottom.
