The bait pellet is shaped to be attached to the hook and hold during the cast. Depending on the variant, it may have a pre-made hole, a compact structure for drilling, or a shape designed for a rubber band. The diameter should match the hook size, leaving the hook point and bend free.

Hardness and working time

A firmer pellet retains its shape longer but may require careful drilling. A softer one releases ingredients faster but is prone to cracking with aggressive rigging. Test its behavior in water, especially when fishing for extended periods without recasting. Other feeder baits allow you to compare different forms, and wafters are the right choice when you want to partially lighten the hook.
