PayU Payments (formerly platnosci.pl)
Purchases made through PayU are characterized by the highest level of security. The latest encryption techniques combined with top-class hardware platforms ensure reliable protection of all transactions.
Settlement Agent
The company PayU S.A., by the decision of the President of the National Bank of Poland dated June 15, 2007, obtained the status of a Settlement Agent. To achieve this, it met a number of requirements detailed in the Act on electronic payment instruments (Journal of Laws of October 11, 2002, No. 169, item 1385 with later amendments).
The Settlement Agent is supervised by the President of the National Bank of Poland. This commits it to report to NBP the current state of monetary settlements. Reported information should comply with statutory requirements and include, among others, the number of merchants, the number and value of transactions carried out, as well as the number of successful and unsuccessful attempts of transactions that violate the law or the rules of fair trading (e.g., transactions made using stolen or lost credit cards).
Contracts concluded by online stores or websites with the Settlement Agent guarantee clear settlement procedures and ensure the safety of transactions carried out.
Information Transmission
Data transmission on websites cooperating with the Platnosci system is carried out through the SSL EV (Extended Validation Secure Sockets Layer) protocol, which provides the highest standard of identity authentication. Additionally, there is the possibility of encrypting the information exchanged between the online store or service and the Customer.
Protection against unlawful transactions
Purchasing goods or services using a credit card carries a high risk. PayU S.A. has many years of experience in processing such payments. The knowledge we've gained allowed us to reduce the rate of suspicious transactions from 40% to 0.02%. As a result, we can offer PayU users a unique feature, which is the chargeback guarantee that entails taking financial responsibility for transactions made with stolen or lost credit cards.
All transactions handled by Platnosci are also monitored, and their proper conduct is overseen by a specialized Security Section and a professional Customer Service Department.
3D-Secure
The 3D-Secure technology we use during payment processing helps us in enhancing the security level of online transactions. It involves appropriate verification of credit cards before their use, during which the cardholder confirms their identity with a special password. Further card authorization proceeds in the same way as with transactions not secured by 3D-Secure technology.
