Casting Gloves and Finger Protectors - These are one of the essential pieces of equipment for carp anglers who fish by casting, especially over long distances. They protect the hands and, in particular, the fingers during casting with a rod, where slim braided leaders, which can easily slice through the skin of a finger under heavy strain, are often used.

Protectors commonly come in the form of gloves worn on the hand, or individual "fingers" that are attached only to the index finger. The area where the finger contacts the line is finished with a thick, usually leather material that provides excellent protection for the finger.
