Mechanical bite indicator - This is a type of indicator that indicates a bite through movement caused by the tension of the main line resulting from the fish self-hooking on the end rig. Mechanical bite indicators apart from providing motion indication of the bite, also support the indications of electronic indicators by bending the angle of the main line and effectively directing it to the sensor of this indicator, regardless of the angle of the rod.
Mechanical bite alarm - types
Swinger - It is distinguished by a stiff arm that connects the signal head with the support. This arm is available in various lengths and can be equipped with a sliding load that allows you to adjust the cable tension. This type of mechanical bite indicators is recommended for fishing areas where windy conditions are common due to its stiffness, and will also work much better when fishing at extremely long distances.
Hanger - It has a soft, usually chain or string connection between the head and the support. Due to this type of connection, the head moves much more freely on the cable, which makes it much more sensitive to cable tension. Hangers are therefore an excellent choice when we require high precision of indications, but they are less stable in strong winds. They behave optimally at short and medium distances.
The market also offers hybrid solutions that combine the features of swingers and hangers.
A wide range of swingers and hangers of such popular brands as Nash, Fox or Mivardi available in our store!
