What is a free spool?
It works on the principle of a clutch, which allows us to quickly change the resistance that the reel's brake provides. After closing the lever, it switches the reel back to its original state with the currently set main brake resistance. Free spool is therefore an extremely convenient solution, as it prevents the loss of the rod during a fish's powerful take, and it only takes one turn of the handle to immediately switch to fighting the fish.
