Reduced Glare from Water Surface

Polarized lenses reduce some horizontal reflections, which helps reduce eye strain when watching the tip and water surface. They can also assist in assessing shallow shorelines when netting a fish. However, they do not replace caution or protective glasses required for certain tasks.

Lens Color and Frame Fit

Gray lenses preserve natural colors in bright light, brown or amber lenses enhance contrast, and lighter variants work well in lower sunlight. The frame should fit securely when bending over and not press on the temples after several hours. Other personal gear includes fishing clothing. For cold days, sunglasses can be complemented with fishing gloves and socks selected for the temperature.
