Online Fishing Permits – Wody Polskie Launches a New System
Wody Polskie has introduced a new service that significantly changes the way amateur fishing permits are purchased. In fishing districts directly managed by Wody Polskie, it is now possible to buy a permit entirely online. This means no more in-person visits, advance bank transfers, or searching for sales points.
The new system was designed for simplicity and quick access to legal fishing, even in spontaneous situations during your time by the water.
What Are Online Fishing Permits in Wody Polskie
Online fishing permits are electronic documents authorizing amateur fishing in waters managed by the State Water Holding Wody Polskie. The permit is issued digitally and replaces traditional paper permits.
After purchase, the permit is available in PDF format and within a mobile app. The document includes a QR code that allows quick verification of its validity during on-site inspections.
What the New Fishing Permit System Changes
The new system removes many barriers anglers previously faced. Buying a permit no longer requires adapting to office hours or planning bank transfers in advance.
The biggest changes include the ability to purchase a permit:
- at any time of day,
- from any location,
- without the need to print the documents.
The system operates in real time, meaning the permit is valid almost immediately after payment.
How to Buy an Online Fishing Permit
Purchasing a Permit via the Virtual River Informant
Purchases are made through the Virtual River Informant system or the mobile app. Users can create an account or use the guest purchase option. Then, select the fishing location and type of permit, such as periodic or annual.
Online Payment and Permit Delivery
Payments are made online. Available options include instant transfers, BLIK, and traditional bank transfers. After completing the transaction, the document is sent to the email address provided during purchase.
QR Code and On-Site Verification
The permit includes a unique QR code. During inspections, simply present the document on your phone’s screen. There is no obligation to have a paper version.
Can You Still Buy Traditional Fishing Permits
During a transition period, the electronic system operates alongside the previous purchase methods. This means traditional permits are still available.
From January, permit sales will be exclusively electronic, marking a full transition to the new system.
Who Can Buy an E-Permit for Amateur Fishing
E-permits are available to individuals who meet the legal requirements for amateur fishing. Polish citizens still need a valid fishing license card.
The permit authorizes fishing only in waters managed by Wody Polskie and in accordance with regulations set by the relevant Regional Water Management Board.
Fees and Types of Fishing Permits in Wody Polskie
Fees depend on the offer of the specific Regional Water Management Board. Various permit types are available, including:
- single-day,
- multi-day,
- periodic,
- seasonal,
- annual.
Current rates, sales rules, and detailed fishing conditions are set by the directors of the individual Regional Water Management Boards.
Why Anglers Are Switching to Online Permits
Online permits offer convenience and time savings. Anglers have constant access to their documents, don’t need to store paper versions, and can quickly adjust to changing plans.
An additional benefit is the ecological aspect—reducing paper usage and streamlining administrative processes.
Digitalization of Fishing in Poland and the Future of Fishing Grounds
Digitalization changes the way fishing is organized but doesn’t alter the essence of the catch. Experience, knowledge of waters, and passion remain key. For many anglers, the goal is still meeting that exceptional fish and dreaming of a record catch.
It’s no coincidence that information about what the carp record in Poland is, where the largest fish were caught, and how fishing standards have evolved over the years is highly popular.
