Nash Scope OPS Recon Brolly – compact brolly for mobile carp anglers
The Nash Scope OPS Recon Brolly is a modern version of the iconic Recon model, designed as a shelter for carp anglers who value mobility, quick relocation, and high equipment resistance to weather conditions. The design is based on a short transport system compatible with Scope 9 ft and 10 ft rod skins, making it an ideal piece of gear for carp anglers using compact transport setups.
High durability thanks to Aquasense® 10,000 mm
The brolly uses the exceptionally durable Aquasense® fabric with 10,000 mm waterproof rating, providing effective protection against heavy rain and changing weather conditions. The frame is made of 8 mm fiberglass ribs, combining high strength with flexibility, minimizing the risk of damage even in strong winds. The central bell cap is reinforced with a steel wire, eliminating the typical failure point found in cheaper brolly constructions.
Maximum usable space and compact folded size
The space saver centre boss increases the space under the canopy by allowing the ribs to sit close to the fabric without taking up valuable room. Despite its compact form, the Recon Brolly fits both standard and wide Indulgence beds and, combined with the Scope Four Fold Sleep System bed, provides maximum space and excellent mobility for the entire setup.
Advanced rain protection – extended storm panels
The front panels are extended beyond the classic brolly outline, offering protection similar to Titan Hide models and Groundhog designs from the early 2000s. This allows the bed to be positioned deep at the back, where it remains almost completely shielded even during pouring rain. When the weather is stable, the panels can be rolled up and secured with elastic straps, ensuring full visibility around the swim.
Mozzi panel included – full protection during warm months
The brolly comes with a front mosquito net panel that mounts around the bell cap and can be attached independently from the main structure. Double elastics and clips ensure perfect tension of the mesh, creating a sealed barrier against insects. It features an exceptionally smooth zipper that opens without snagging, which is crucial for quick exits when a bite occurs.
Compatibility with Scope OPS system and practical extras
The Recon Brolly is supplied in a waterproof roll-top bag designed to clip onto Scope OPS Rod Skin cases using snaps and Velcro loops. The bottom of the bag is additionally reinforced and protected from damage by the storm pole and moisture. The brolly’s construction also includes a central internal pocket, two Velcro straps for attaching rods, and adjustable peg attachment points. The water drainage system is complemented by an integrated front gutter system.
