The innovative Magic Twig can certainly improve your current effectiveness in terms of bites and landed fish! Utilizing a spring mechanism during a bite, once encountering the right resistance, it triggers and "sets the hook" on the fish. This action significantly reduces the number of baits dropped/spat out by the carp shortly after being sucked in. The Light model has a 4.5oz. (128g) trigger weight, meaning it requires that much weight* to trigger the system during a bite. The Light model also has the least hook-setting force, which in our opinion, could be the appropriate choice when using smaller hook sizes or models made of thin wire. The Magic Twig is attached to a secure One More Cast Vitabitz Lead Clip or to many available on the market utilizing swivels in size 8. The other end of the Magic Twig has a solidly anchored Swivel with a Quick Change (QC) connector to which we attach the Leader.html" class="slowo_link" title="Explain the concept">Leader. After properly securing the Magic Twig, it should be "armed," and then it is advisable to protect the mechanism from accidental "disarming" during casting or laying out the rig from a bait boat, using PVA tape or thread. It's worth adding that the system also supports us during the fight. The spring inside which causes the hook to set upon disarming acts as a shock absorber after triggering, maintaining flexibility and making it more difficult for the fish to shake off the hook embedded in its mouth during the fight.

* The 4.5oz. (128g) strength does not mean that the mechanism should only be used with a weight of this exact weight. Considering other forces occurring during a bite (overloads caused by a quick head jerk by the fish, suction of the weight into the silt, etc.), the light version can be effectively used with weights that are lighter or heavier. When selecting the right Magic Twig, one should also take into account the possibility of "disarming" the mechanism in the fishery by other species such as silverfish, water birds, or crayfish.
