Zig Bugs are floating carp flies. When fish are not feeding on the bottom but are moving in the water column or picking up baits from the surface, instead of sitting idle and waiting for a miracle, let's try a different approach and present the bait where the fish are. Fishing in the water column with a Zig Rig setup is a much more active form of carp fishing than simply waiting for a bite. After casting the rig, we leave it in place for 20-30 minutes; if nothing happens - we change the depth at which the bait is swimming, switch the bait, or recast the rig. In Zig Rig fishing, the rule is: if nothing is happening - take action! Zig Bugs can be additionally flavored, but from experience, I know that it is not necessary. These flies (Zig Bugs) mimic insects which are a natural food source for fish. Zig Bugs are tied on hook with an eyelet.
