Raptor Carp Rods
Carp rods - commonly referred to as "carp sticks", are characterized by specific features and construction. They are usually made of carbon fibre with a particular arrangement of guides and a split handle that facilitates a firm grip during casting.
Length of rods - carp rods are typically made in three lengths, given in English feet: 10' (3 m), 12' (3.6m), and 13' (3.9m). Shorter versions are intended for boat fishing, medium ones are the most common and versatile, and longer ones are mainly aimed at extremely distant casts.
Flexibility of rods - also known as the test curve, is most often expressed on a scale from 2-3.5 lb, i.e., 2.0; 2.75; 3.0; 3.25, and 3.5 lb. The higher the lb rating, the stiffer the rod, allowing the angler to cast the rig further. The lower the lb rating, the more flexible the rod, providing more pleasure during the fight with the fish. High-quality rods allow the combination of both features, achieving excellent casting parameters while maintaining the enjoyment of the fight.
The most popular and versatile rods are 12' (3.60m) in length with a test curve of 3.0 lb.
