Trakker Carp Rods
Carp rods - colloquially known as "carp rods," are characterized by specific features and construction. They are usually made of carbon fiber with a specific arrangement of guides and a split handle that facilitates a firm grip during casting.
Length of rods - carp rods are most commonly made in three lengths given in English feet: 10' (3 m), 12' (3.6 m), and 13' (3.9 m). Shorter versions are designed for boat fishing, medium ones are the most common and versatile, while longer rods are mainly intended for extremely long casts.
Flexibility of rods - also referred to as the test curve, is most commonly expressed on a scale from 2-3.5 lb, that is: 2.0; 2.75; 3.0; 3.25, and 3.5 lb. The higher the lb number, the stiffer the rod, allowing for casting the rig farther. The lower the lb number, the more flexible the rod, providing more pleasure during the fight. High-quality rods allow combining both features to achieve excellent casting parameters while maintaining the pleasure of the fight.
The most popular and versatile rods are those of 12' (3.60m) in length and a test curve of 3.0 lb.
