Greys Carp Rods
Carp rods - commonly referred to as "carp rods," possess distinct features and construction. They are usually made of carbon fiber with a specific arrangement of guides and a split handle that facilitates a secure grip during casting.
Rod length - carp rods are typically available in three lengths given in English feet: 10' (3 m), 12' (3.6 m), and 13' (3.9 m). Shorter versions are intended for boat fishing, medium lengths are the most common and versatile, whereas the longer ones are designed primarily for extremely long-distance casting.
Rod flexibility - also known as the test curve, is most often rated on a scale from 2-3.5 lb, which includes: 2.0; 2.75; 3.0; 3.25, and 3.5 lb. The more lbs, the stiffer the rod, allowing the angler to cast the rig further. The fewer lbs, the more flexible the rod, providing more pleasure during the fight. High-quality rods combine both characteristics, achieving excellent casting capabilities while maintaining the joy of the fight.
The most popular and versatile rods are 12' (3.60m) in length with a test curve of 3.0 lb.
