Nash Zig Bugs Glow Beattle Critters Hookless
Zig Bugs are floating carp flies tied without hooks on shanks. In situations where fish are not feeding on the bottom but are moving in the water column or picking up baits from the surface, instead of sitting idly and waiting for a miracle, let's try a different approach and present the bait where the fish are. Fishing in the water column with a Zig Rig setup is a much more active form of carp fishing than simply waiting for a bite. After casting the rig, we leave it in place for 20-30 minutes. If nothing happens - we change the depth at which the bait is floating, change the bait, or recast the rig. When fishing with a Zig Rig, the rule is: if nothing is happening - take action! Zig Bugs can be additionally flavored, but my experience tells me that it is not necessary. These flies (Zig Bugs) mimic the insects that fish naturally feed on.
